論文では, 山積型とともに代表的な時点型個別生産モデルの待ち行列解析により, 評価関数を導き, それに基づいて最適制御問題の構造を議論している.制御変数としては, 2受注選択基準c_1,c_2(0≤c_1,c_2<∞)と2能力切換水準i_1,i_2(0≤i_2≤i_1,i_1≥1)の四つを考えている.最初に, 隠れアプローチによって単位時間あたりの平均受注価格, 平均運用費用, 平均正味利得の表現を導いている.次に, 制御の観点から数値的考察によって, 受注センターと生産センターの協力対非協力型問題, 山積対時点型モデルの議論を行っている.最後に, 時点型モデルの改良や, そのときのc_1,c_2の大小関係における性質(非単調性)などが検討されている.
